Openkoda Unveils Openkoda 2.0: Revolutionising Insurance Applications with Generative AI
Openkoda has announced the launch of Openkoda 2.0, a groundbreaking open-source enterprise platform designed to accelerate the development of modern insurance applications.

By harnessing Generative AI and pre-built application templates, Openkoda 2.0 enables insurers and insurtech companies to rapidly prototype and deploy new products and distribution channels. The platform supports seamless integration with a growing ecosystem of specialised insurtech services, avoiding the limitations of proprietary lock-ins.

A key highlight of Openkoda 2.0 is its new Reporting AI feature, which empowers decision-makers to extract actionable insights from business data using natural language queries. The innovation eliminates reliance on external reporting tools and manual database queries, making the process more efficient and user-friendly. Additionally, the platform includes advanced templates tailored for embedded insurance, risk assessment, and policy and claims management solutions.

The insurance industry is undergoing rapid transformation driven by significant challenges, including an aging population, climate-related risks, unconventional threats like cyberattacks, and evolving consumer expectations. These challenges are also opportunities for insurers to deliver personalised products through direct distribution channels and introduce next-generation loss prevention services. Openkoda aims to address these dynamics by providing a flexible, adaptable platform that empowers insurers to innovate at scale.

Openkoda’s founders, Arkadiusz Drysch and Michal Glomba, bring over two decades of experience delivering enterprise software to leading names in insurance and finance. They developed Openkoda to address long-standing frustrations with traditional platforms, which they found slow, rigid, and difficult to customise. “We knew there had to be a more efficient, flexible approach that didn’t sacrifice quality,” said Drysch, Openkoda’s CEO and co-founder. “Our platform is faster, highly adaptable, and designed to meet the rigorous standards of financial industries.” Co-founder Michal Glomba added, “Our goal is to empower insurance companies to build highly personalised products and new distribution channels faster than ever before.”

Unlike many subscription-based systems that rely on user-based pricing and proprietary technologies, Openkoda offers flexibility and control. Its open-source foundation allows insurers to maintain full ownership of their applications and customer data, while integrating with existing development teams using a widely adopted technology stack. The approach eliminates vendor lock-ins and fosters innovation at a faster pace.

Openkoda 2.0 is available in two editions: the Openkoda Core Open-Source Edition, which provides a customisable foundation for insurers to build and extend applications, and the Openkoda Enterprise Edition, which offers advanced features such as Reporting AI, a custom dashboard builder, data-driven document generation, and enhanced scalability through multi-tenancy and clustering. Both editions allow deployment on either the Openkoda Managed Cloud or a private cloud, providing flexibility to meet security, compliance, and operational needs.

“We designed Openkoda as a foundational platform for the modern insurance business,” said Drysch. “By enabling insurers to innovate faster, we aim to redefine how enterprise applications are developed and delivered in the insurance industry.” With the release of Openkoda 2.0, the company is positioning itself as a key enabler in helping the insurance sector navigate its ongoing transformation.
