The new solution is designed to empower employees—particularly parents—with a clear, privacy-respecting view into their children’s online experiences. By analyzing language patterns, emotional expression, tone, and late-night activity, the tool generates digestible reports that help parents understand how their children are engaging with apps, websites, and social platforms. In addition to flagging potential safety concerns, the solution offers insights into a child’s social persona, revealing trends in messaging behavior and interaction tone without compromising their privacy.
“We recognize the growing concerns families have when it comes to their children’s online behaviors and how it impacts their mental health,” said Pedja Arandjelovic, Head of Identity and Fraud Protection Business, Group Benefits at MetLife. “Aura’s suite of online safety and mental balance tools enables us to help employers support their employees and families in protecting mental health and safeguarding in the online world. With Aura’s innovative technology, we are paving the way for a new frontier in benefit offerings to support employee mental health as online risks grow more pervasive.”
Hari Ravichandran, founder and CEO of Aura, emphasized the urgency behind the initiative. “Our kids’ lives have shifted to a boundless, invisible online world. Without a window into what’s happening online, we can’t hope to succeed in our primary role as parents. And if we aren’t succeeding at home, then we won’t excel at work,” he said. “My own kids were struggling, and I didn’t know, because it was masked behind their screens. I needed a solution that didn’t exist, so we built one.”
This latest collaboration between MetLife and Aura reflects a growing trend among employers to offer digital wellness and safety tools as part of comprehensive employee benefit packages—recognizing the integral link between family well-being and workplace performance.
