This collaboration marks a new milestone in Policy Expert’s growth strategy, as Bridgehaven joins forces with Accredited in a co-insurance arrangement to support the company’s expansion.
Under the two-year program management agreement, Bridgehaven, a hybrid fronting insurer connecting Managing General Agents (MGAs) with diversified, long-term capacity, will share equal capacity with Accredited, a leading global program manager. The addition of Bridgehaven enhances Policy Expert’s capacity portfolio and facilitates the launch of its new pet insurance product.
This arrangement is projected to provide £500 million in gross written premium capacity from Bridgehaven over the course of the agreement, which runs through 2026.
The announcement comes during a period of strong growth for Policy Expert. In September, the company secured backing from international private equity firm Cinven to bolster its broader expansion efforts. Policy Expert has also achieved several milestones, including reaching 1.5 million customers, growing new policy sales by 45% since May 2021, and increasing its total policy count by 51% over the same period. The company has gained over 100,000 customers in the past year and ranks first for new policy sales via price comparison websites in its core markets.
