In his new capacity, Liston will report directly to Pat Tomlinson, Chief Executive Officer of Marsh McLennan US and Canada, as well as President of Mercer.

Additionally, he will maintain a reporting line to Hans van Heukelum, the Global CCO of Marsh McLennan. Liston will remain stationed in New York, where he will oversee key commercial operations for the company.

With his extensive expertise and leadership skills, Liston is poised to drive strategic initiatives and bolster Marsh McLennan’s presence in the North American market. His appointment underscores the company’s commitment to enhancing its commercial capabilities and delivering exceptional value to clients across the region.

His appointment comes after Susan Potter’s transition to the position of President, Mercer US and Canada earlier this year.

In his new capacity, Liston will collaborate with leaders from Marsh, Mercer, Guy Carpenter, and Oliver Wyman to encourage cooperation and innovation across the businesses. His aim is to maximize client impact and promote business growth in the US and Canada.

Liston boasts a career spanning more than thirty years in the market. Previously, he held the role of Corporate Segment Leader at Marsh US and Canada, and recently, he expanded his responsibilities across Marsh and Mercer, focusing on mid-market offerings in the region.

Throughout his career, Liston has held various client-facing and leadership positions at Marsh. He has served as the US Sales and Marketing Leader and managed the New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut region. Additionally, he has experience as the Head of Marsh’s New York and Seattle offices and spent a decade in Florida, specializing in production and client executive roles.
