Rake, who joined Swiss Re in 2016, currently serves as the Regional CEO for Asia Pacific at Swiss Re Corporate Solutions.
Robert Hunziker, Head of Property & Specialty APAC, will take on the role of interim Regional CEO APAC Swiss Re Corporate Solutions.
Russell Higginbotham, who has been with Swiss Re for 30 years, will be retiring. Higginbotham has held various leadership positions within the company and has made significant contributions to its growth and success.
Swiss Re expressed its gratitude to Russell Higginbotham for his dedicated service and wished both Jonathan Rake and Robert Hunziker success in their new roles. In a statement it said: “We’d like to thank Russell for his invaluable contributions and wish both Robert and Jonathan all the best in their new roles,” said the firm.”
In a social media post, Higginbotham said: “It was announced today that I’ll be leaving Swiss Re, after 30 years with the Group. It has been a privilege to work for such an amazing company, working across all (re)insurance markets around the world, living in four different countries and meeting countless incredible colleagues and clients.”
He added: “I’ll look forward to working with my successor Jonathan Rake to ensure a smooth transition and then taking a bit of time out. Hopefully you’ll see me again before too long!”
