The funding round featured a mix of debt and equity financing, with participation from prominent investors including Solidium Oy, BlackRock, Seraphim, Plio Limited, and Christo Georgiev. Since its founding in 2014, ICEYE has now raised over $500 million.
The fresh funds will accelerate the development of ICEYE’s synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite constellation and its intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) systems. These technologies are pivotal to enhancing the company’s capabilities in Earth observation and natural catastrophe solutions.
“ICEYE has experienced unwavering momentum over the past few years. This extension of our growth funding round further bolsters ICEYE’s investment in its capabilities and enables us to respond even better to the growing demand for space-based technology in the global defense and ISR markets,” said Susan Repo, CFO at ICEYE.
ICEYE specialises in SAR technology, delivering high-resolution Earth observation data for persistent monitoring and disaster management. The company serves major clients such as Swiss Re, Juniper Re, and Insurity, providing near real-time insights that support risk assessment, disaster response, and insurance solutions.
Reima Rytsölä, CEO of Solidium, emphasized the strategic importance of the investment. “Extending the growth funding to support ICEYE is well in line with our investment strategy. Our view is that ICEYE continues to have strong potential to grow into a nationally significant company and foster a completely new technology cluster in Finland.”
With this new injection of capital, ICEYE is poised to further solidify its position as a leader in space-based technologies, supporting critical global industries and driving innovation in Earth observation.
