Duck Creek Technologies has introduced a new insurance-native Agentic AI Platform, designed to bring advanced underwriting and claims capabilities into a unified, intelligent framework across the insurance lifecycle.

The platform enables insurers to deploy, coordinate, and govern AI agents globally, embedding automation directly into core workflows. It reflects the growing importance of AI in insurance, with Boston Consulting Group projecting the technology could generate up to $80 billion in annual value in the U.S. market alone.

At its core, the platform is built on “Agentic Intelligence,” a context-driven model repository powered by generative AI, machine learning, and neuro-symbolic reasoning, all aligned with carrier-specific data and rules. This is complemented by “Agentic Orchestration,” allowing insurers to design and manage AI agents across multiple use cases while maintaining human oversight.

To support governance and trust, the platform incorporates “AI Assurance,” providing traceability, auditability, compliance, and security. An open AI Gateway enables integration across Duck Creek, partner, and customer-developed agents, while the Clarity Data Foundation connects directly to core systems, delivering real-time access to policy, claims, billing, and risk data.

“Agentic AI will redefine how insurance operates, enabling carriers to move from manual, fragmented processes to orchestrated end-to-end decisioning and support for all personas to drive better outcomes and continuously improve,” said Hardeep Gulati, Chief Executive Officer at Duck Creek. “Our Agentic AI Platform combines our leadership in core systems, proprietary insurance domain ontology and expertise, and Agentic AI with neuro-symbolic reasoning to create agents that operate with full context, governance, traceability and human-in-the-loop, so carriers can scale AI with confidence and trust.”
Built on a layered architecture, the platform allows insurers to integrate AI into existing environments without replacing legacy systems, helping preserve prior technology investments and avoid vendor lock-in.

As part of the launch, Duck Creek introduced two new applications. The Agentic Underwriting Workbench automates submission intake, triage, and data enrichment to accelerate quote generation and improve risk selection. Meanwhile, Agentic First Notice of Loss (FNOL) reimagines claims intake as a real-time, intelligent process across digital, voice, and mobile channels, enhancing data quality while reducing cycle times and costs.

Developed in collaboration with Google Cloud and powered by Gemini models, the FNOL solution also includes capabilities such as policy and coverage verification and early-stage fraud detection at the point of intake.

Together, these innovations signal a shift beyond task-level automation toward fully orchestrated, end-to-end workflows, enabling insurers to improve operational efficiency, strengthen decision-making, and deliver better customer outcomes.
