bolttech Insurance, the general insurance arm of international insurtech bolttech based in Hong Kong, has launched MyTravel, a travel coverage plan catering to customers, their families, pets, and belongings.

The new product is exclusively available through FWD’s online insurance platform, a direct-to-customer portal designed to streamline the insurance process and offer a more efficient experience to users.

MyTravel sets itself apart by providing coverage for changes in travel dates or trip cancellations for any reason. This unique benefit is a key feature of the MyTravel Superior plan, offering reimbursement of up to HKD25,000, with a cap set at 50% of the applicable public transportation and accommodation charges.

According to reports, MyTravel offers additional benefits such as reimbursement for the costs incurred due to missed events, such as concerts, in cases where insured members face sickness or accidents. This coverage extends up to HKD3,000 and HKD15,000 under the Premium and Superior plans respectively.

The solution also covers individuals aged 60 days to 80 years, offering up to HKD1,500,000 in medical expense coverage and 24/7 emergency assistance worldwide. It includes pet boarding during travel delays at HKD500/day under Premium and Superior plans. Additionally, it safeguards personal items like mobile devices and laptops from theft and provides compensation up to HKD5,000/item for lost sports equipment under Premium and Superior plans.
