AXA Becomes First Global Insurer to Join Stanford HAI’s Corporate Affiliate Program
AXA has become the first global insurer to join the Stanford Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI) Corporate Affiliate Program.

The collaboration aims to bridge the gap between industry expertise and leading-edge AI research conducted at Stanford University.

The partnership will focus on advancing human-centered AI, with a particular emphasis on:

  • Sustainability metrics: Developing AI models that accurately assess environmental and social impacts.
  • Prediction capabilities: Enhancing AI’s ability to forecast future events and risks.
  • Fairness and bias: Mitigating biases and ensuring equitable outcomes in AI-powered systems.
  • Interpretability: Improving the understanding and explainability of AI decision-making processes.

Alexander Vollert, Group Chief Operating Officer and CEO of AXA Group Operations, said: “We are delighted to enter the HAI corporate affiliates program at a time when artificial intelligence is changing the world at an unprecedented pace and unlocking previously unimagined possibilities.”

He added: “As a global insurer with a strong track record in implementing AI solutions, we’re eager to support this important research into the development of AI models that are trustworthy, human-centric and sustainable for our clients, industry and society as a whole.”
