In this role, Flatt will report directly to Peter Zaffino, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of AIG, and join the company’s Executive Leadership Team.
Flatt brings extensive experience in underwriting and leadership to this critical role. As Head of AIG North America Alternative Channels, he successfully led the company’s efforts to expand its distribution and reach new customer segments.
Before AIG in 2017, Flatt held roles at Marsh McLennan. He also served in senior underwriting positions at GE Capital and ITT Hartford, where he began his career. As Global Chief Underwriting Officer, Flatt succeeds Christopher Schaper, who was appointed Chief Risk Officer of AIG in November 2024.

In his new role, Flatt will be responsible for overseeing AIG’s global underwriting strategy and operations. He will play a key role in driving underwriting discipline, enhancing risk management capabilities, and ensuring profitable growth across all lines of business.
The appointment reflects AIG’s commitment to strengthening its underwriting capabilities and positioning the company for long-term success.

Erin Fry, currently President of Glatfelter & EVP of AIG Commercial Lines Programs, will succeed Mr. Flatt as Head of AIG North America Alternative Channels. Ms. Fry will report directly to Don Bailey, Executive Vice President & Chief Executive Officer, North America Insurance, AIG.
