Tim Stapleton has been named Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) of COG, and Jason Neu has been appointed Executive Vice President (EVP), Financial Lines for COG.
In his role as CUO, Stapleton will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing underwriting operations across COG. This includes developing and implementing best practices, refining underwriting standards, and strengthening audit strategies. Stapleton previously served as EVP, Financial Lines, for COG and will now report to Paul McNamee, Executive Vice President, Chubb Group President, Overseas General Insurance.
Neu, currently EVP, Financial Lines for Westchester, Chubb’s North American wholesale subsidiary, will succeed Stapleton as EVP, Financial Lines for COG. In this role, Neu will lead Chubb’s international financial lines division, with oversight of directors’ and officers’ liability, financial institutions, and errors and omissions insurance.
Stapleton has been with COG since he joined Chubb in 2015 as Product Head for Cyber & Technology Industry Practices. Prior to Chubb, he was in various leadership and underwriting positions at Zurich Insurance and American International Group.
Neu joined Chubb 2004. He began as a Financial Lines underwriter and later served as Senior Vice President and Financial Lines Manager for Chubb Small Commercial. His experience includes serving as National Financial Lines Manager for Australia & New Zealand, roles he held before Westchester.
“These appointments further strengthen our ability to meet clients’ needs with greater operational excellence. Tim and Jason’s leadership in underwriting operations will provide greater visibility into our progress and ensure alignment with strategic objectives,” McNamee said.
