Simply Business has partnered with managing general agent Elevate Specialty to offer cyber insurance to its small business customers, expanding the range of protection available through its insurer panel.
The partnership enables customers to add Elevate Specialty’s cyber insurance product to their existing business insurance policies, providing cover for cyber crime, data breaches and cyber liability.
Cyber protection for small businesses
The cyber insurance product also includes access to an expert helpline that offers guidance, incident triage and recovery support following cyber-related events.
Simply Business said the agreement is designed to help small and micro businesses address growing cyber risks by making cyber cover easier to access alongside their existing insurance policies.
Responding to evolving cyber risks
Julie Fisher, UK Chief Executive at Simply Business, said cyber threats are becoming an increasingly significant concern for smaller businesses, many of which do not have dedicated resources to manage digital security.
“For small and micro businesses, cyber threats are a rapidly growing concern and navigating those risks can be daunting.”
“By partnering with Elevate Specialty, we are making it simpler for our customers to add cyber insurance directly to their existing policies so they can better protect their businesses from the impact of online attacks.”
Expanding access to cyber cover
Elevate Specialty said the partnership extends its cyber insurance proposition to Simply Business’ customer base, which spans more than 1,700 trades and professions.
Chief Executive Mickey Attia said the product has been developed to provide practical cyber protection for businesses that lack enterprise-level IT resources.
“Bringing our cyber product to that community means we can put meaningful, accessible protection in the hands of small business owners, many of whom don’t have dedicated IT teams or enterprise-level budgets.”
The partnership reflects growing demand for cyber insurance among small businesses as digital risks continue to evolve and cyber incidents become an increasing operational concern across the SME sector.
