Wilson, who served as chief executive of AXIS Insurance from 2013 to 2022, brings extensive experience in the insurance industry, both in executive and board positions. His appointment is expected to enhance the insurance expertise of the QBE board, with a strong background in the United States, United Kingdom, and Bermuda.
The appointment is set for September, pending regulatory approval. Wilson’s previous roles include executive vice president at AIG and president and chief operating officer for CNA Specialty.
QBE Chair Mike Wilkins expressed his pleasure in welcoming Wilson to the board, highlighting his focus on governance, process improvement, collaboration, claims management, and strategic broker relations. The addition of Wilson is expected to further strengthen QBE’s leadership team.
