SoundHound AI has agreed to acquire LivePerson in a transaction valuing the business at approximately $250 million, bringing together voice AI and digital messaging capabilities into a unified conversational platform.
The deal includes an equity value of $43 million, representing a 22% premium, and provides SoundHound with access to LivePerson’s global enterprise client base and its platform, which manages around one billion messages each month.
Following completion, the combined business will operate across more than 30 countries, serving clients in sectors including banking, aviation, automotive, and telecommunications.
SoundHound expects the acquisition to strengthen its position in digital customer service by enabling cross-selling opportunities—introducing voice AI solutions to LivePerson customers while expanding messaging capabilities for its own client base.
The company has outlined ambitions to scale toward $500 million in revenue, supported by the combined customer footprint. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2026.
