The initiative is designed to build a network of Root Certified Engineers who can collaborate, share best practices, and drive innovation in insurance technology.
The program addresses a critical industry need to enhance scalability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness in insurance technology projects. By providing a structured onboarding and certification process, Root enables developers to become certified Solutions Engineer freelancers.
Certified engineers gain access to freelance opportunities, project allocations, and a robust support system managed by Root’s Solutions Engineering team. The program includes ongoing training, mentorship, and performance monitoring to ensure continuous skill development.
The Certified Developer Community program reinforces Root’s commitment to delivering insurance technology projects faster and more efficiently. The initiative is also positioned as a strategic move to expand Root’s ecosystem while providing insurance businesses with access to skilled talent capable of implementing scalable and cost-effective solutions.
A key feature of the program is its focus on a feedback-driven learning environment. Developers participating in the community will receive regular performance reviews and mentorship, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
Root co-founder, Louw Hopley commented, “Our new Certified Developer Community program is a game-changer for the insurance industry. By upskilling developers and equipping them with the tools to succeed, we are enabling faster innovation while creating a vibrant community of experts driving the future of insurance technology.”
The initiative is expected to further Root’s mission to empower insurance businesses with cutting-edge, developer-driven solutions while enhancing efficiency and expertise across the industry.
Charlotte Koep, CEO at Root, said: “I’m so proud of this initiative to offer external developers the opportunity to become Root certified and work with us on a freelance basis. It’s a win-win for Developers who can enhance their skills, knowledge and experience, and work with our in-house team. For Root, we’ll be able to call on qualified Engineers to help us deliver projects as we scale.”
Lourens Pelser, Customer Operations, Root, added: “Designing and creating the Developer Community Program is a natural next step for Root, and offers so much gravitas for Developers. They will get the opportunity to work on a freelance basis with us and access our many interesting projects. It’s also a chance to develop skills, network with like-minded people and gain a strong reputation in the InsurTech market.”
Pelser added: “We’re excited to enroll our first freelancers and get the program moving forwards.”
