The initiative partners with top-tier Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) providers, who will offer the coverage as a value-added warranty for premium customers.
EDR systems play a critical role in cybersecurity, continuously monitoring networked devices for threats and neutralizing them in real time. However, their central role in digital infrastructure also makes them a point of vulnerability. When EDR platforms malfunction—such as during the global CrowdStrike outage in July 2024—they can paralyze operations by instantly disabling devices across entire organizations.
The widespread disruption caused by the CrowdStrike event served as a wake-up call for the industry and spurred demand for better risk mitigation strategies. Parametrix’s new insurance product aims to fill that gap, providing financial compensation when the very systems meant to secure enterprises become sources of failure.
Available exclusively through select EDR vendors, the program offers up to $2 million in coverage per client. Eligibility requires each client to have a minimum of 100 protected endpoints.
