RiverStone International has entered into a loss portfolio transfer (LPT) reinsurance of portfolios associated with funds managed by Leadenhall Capital Partners (LCP), according to a release from RiverStone published on 30 October 2026.
RiverStone says the transaction is its first involvement in the insurance-linked securities (ILS) market.
Aon acted as broker of record on the deal. The terms of the transaction, including the size of the reserves and the lines of business covered, were not disclosed.
According to RiverStone, the transaction broadens the range of solutions offered by the group. The deal has been announced by RiverStone, and Leadenhall Capital Partners has not issued its own statement.
David Rocke, Chief Executive Officer of RiverStone International Bermuda and Group Head of M&A, said: "This is an important milestone for RiverStone as our first involvement in the insurance-linked securities market. It demonstrates our ability to provide tailored legacy solutions across a broad range of counterparties and risk structures."
RiverStone International provides legacy and capital solutions to the insurance and reinsurance market.
The Leadenhall transaction is separate from RiverStone's $1.6bn legacy deal with QBE, which was announced on the same day.
The LPT reinsurance with Leadenhall-managed funds is the first ILS transaction for RiverStone, which provides legacy and capital solutions to the insurance and reinsurance market.
