QBE Insurance has announced the appointment of Jonathan Groves as chief executive officer, Australia Pacific, subject to regulatory approvals.
Groves has more than 30 years of experience across business leadership, underwriting, broking, risk, and regulation, including 13 years with the company. He currently serves as chief executive officer and managing director of QBE Pacific. In that role, he has developed extensive knowledge of the business, its customers, and its partners, as well as the opportunities facing its Australia Pacific operations.
Andrew Horton, group chief executive officer of QBE, said Groves was well placed to build on the group's existing foundations.
"As an internal appointment, Jonathan brings deep knowledge of QBE, our Australia Pacific business and the customers and partners we serve. He is well placed to build on the strong foundations already in place and maintain our focus on disciplined execution, sustainable growth and creating long-term value," said Horton.
QBE said the appointment remains subject to the relevant regulatory approvals.
