Cloverleaf Analytics launches Autonomous Analytics for P&C insurers

Cloverleaf Analytics has introduced Autonomous Analytics, an AI-native platform for P&C insurers and MGAs designed to monitor performance, investigate business changes, and explain likely drivers.

The platform uses a customer's approved business definitions, calculations, and key performance indicators to create a governed metrics foundation. The system monitors business performance, detects meaningful changes, investigates likely root causes, and brings answers to users through a conversational interface.

Cloverleaf said the platform differs from conventional analytics tools that begin with a manually created query, dashboard, or report. Autonomous Analytics automatically evaluates changes in growth, risk, profitability, and customer experience metrics, then alerts appropriate users when it identifies a significant shift.

Robert Clark, founder and chief executive officer of Cloverleaf Analytics, said insurers needed analytics that understood their business.

"Insurers need analytics that understand their business and flags the changes worth investigating," said Clark. "Since AI is built throughout the platform rather than added as an afterthought, users can move directly from a proactive alert to the likely drivers, supporting evidence, and their next question."

Clark said the platform shows whether answers are based on customer-certified metrics, giving insurers a consistent source of truth while keeping subject-matter experts in control of operational decisions.

The platform gives underwriting, claims, finance, and operations teams the ability to investigate business questions using everyday insurance language. It can send alerts when material shifts occur, with likely causes and supporting evidence, and users can ask follow-up questions, drill into specific segments, compare time periods, and test explanations through a chat-based interface. Cloverleaf said every AI-generated insight is backed by traceable evidence, positioning the platform as insurance-specific rather than a generic AI tool applied to insurer data.

Eric Rhoades, chief information security officer and senior vice president of information services at Co-operative Insurance Companies, said Cloverleaf had helped the insurer transform a legacy reporting process from days to hours after going live in August 2025.

"The new Autonomous Analytics platform is a game-changer, enabling our users to investigate that data on-demand through an easy-to-use conversational interface with the governance and security our business requires," said Rhoades.

Rhoades said the platform's certified metrics give users a consistent intelligence foundation for examining issues from different perspectives while reaching trusted answers.

Autonomous Analytics is designed to build on existing Cloverleaf data models, so current customers can adopt the platform without starting over. The platform is currently in beta, with general availability planned for the fourth quarter of 2026.
