Manulife Names Stephanie Fadous as New Chief Actuary
Manulife has announced the appointment of Stephanie Fadous as its next Chief Actuary, effective May 9, 2025. She succeeds Steve Finch, who was recently promoted to President and CEO of Manulife Asia.

In her new role, Fadous will report to Phil Witherington, incoming President and CEO of Manulife, and will join the company’s Executive Leadership Team.

Fadous currently serves as Manulife’s Global Treasurer and Head of Capital Management, where she leads funding strategies and manages the insurer’s relationships with banks and rating agencies. Her career at Manulife has spanned key leadership positions in global finance, actuarial, and asset liability management. She also played a pivotal role in the implementation of IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 across the organization. Fadous is a Fellow of both the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and the Society of Actuaries.

Following Fadous’s appointment, Hung Ko, currently Global Head of Investor Relations, will assume an expanded role as Global Head of Treasury and Investor Relations. Ko brings more than 20 years of insurance industry experience and holds an MBA from McGill University.
