Lemonade, the AI-driven digital insurance company with a focus on social impact, has announced the results of its 2023 Giveback program, marking the seventh consecutive year of giving back to numerous local and global charities selected by its customers.

In this year’s Giveback, Lemonade customers directed US$2,008,847 to 58 nonprofits across the United States and Europe. The chosen charities encompass various causes, including healthcare improvement, humanitarian crises, civil rights, climate education, and global poverty. With the latest donations, the Lemonade community has contributed a total of $8,160,775 since the Giveback program’s inception in 2017.

Giveback is a key component of Lemonade’s business model, allowing customers to support charitable organizations by directing their leftover premiums to those in need. Any Lemonade customer purchasing renters, homeowners, car, or pet insurance policies can select a charity of their choice.

Shai Wininger, co-CEO and co-founder of Lemonade, emphasized the company’s commitment to social impact, stating, “As a certified B-Corp and public benefit corporation, Giveback is just one way Lemonade is able to weave social impact into our products and business model, allowing our customers to do good simply by being part of the Lemonade community.”

The partnership between Lemonade and charity: water, a nonprofit dedicated to providing clean drinking water, was praised by Scott Harrison, Founder and CEO of charity: water. He expressed his gratitude for Lemonade’s impactful support, stating, “Their support means communities are healthier. Dignity is restored.”
