ISC has acquired Specialty Brokerage Services (SBS), strengthening its wholesale insurance capabilities across both personal and commercial lines as it continues to scale its nationwide platform.
SBS, an Ohio-based wholesale brokerage, brings expertise in personal lines, small commercial risks, and specialty placements, alongside established carrier relationships. The acquisition adds depth to ISC’s wholesale division, including high-value personal lines that complement ISC’s homeowners programmes and expanded access to markets such as private flood and product liability.

ISC said the transaction supports its broader strategy of building a nationwide wholesale operation through a combination of acquisitions and organic growth. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Brad Nebel, President, New Programs & Wholesale at ISC, said, “We’re investing heavily in building out our nationwide wholesale operation, and the addition of SBS accelerates those plans in a meaningful way. SBS brings incredible talent, strong leadership under industry veteran Tricia Johnston, and a reputation for excellence with both agents and carrier partners. They significantly expand our market access across admitted and non-admitted lines, which is accretive to everything we’re building.”
The acquisition reflects continued consolidation in the US wholesale insurance market, as brokers seek scale, specialist expertise and broader market access amid rising complexity in underwriting and distribution.
