Bremer Insurance Agencies, formerly a subsidiary of Old National Bancorp following Old National’s acquisition of Bremer Bank, provides insurance services to commercial, agricultural, and personal lines clients across Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin. The agency’s operations will continue under the leadership of Travis Hoaglund, who, along with his team, will report to Sean Gallagher, head of Gallagher’s Great Lakes region retail property and casualty brokerage operations.
“Bremer Insurance Agencies has an excellent record of client service and will expand our retail brokerage offerings in the Upper Midwest,” said J. Patrick Gallagher, Jr., chairman and CEO of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.
The acquisition of Bremer Insurance Agencies is part of Gallagher’s broader growth strategy, which has included more than 150 acquisitions since 2020. Among the most notable was the $13.45 billion deal for AssuredPartners, one of the largest transactions in the insurance industry. That acquisition added approximately 400 offices and 10,900 employees to Gallagher’s network, strengthening its presence in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. It also enhanced Gallagher’s middle-market and specialty practice capabilities, supporting its strategy to serve a broader client base with expanded resources.
In addition to its expansion in the Midwest, Gallagher has also acquired Dominick Falcone Agency and Falcone Associates Inc., property and casualty and employee benefits firms based in Syracuse, New York.
Gallagher’s international footprint now includes more than 100 offices in the United Kingdom, 45 in Australia, 37 in New Zealand, and 16 in India. The company has signaled plans to further expand into Latin America, Western Europe, and Asia, leveraging a hub-and-spoke model to serve multinational and middle-market clients with complex insurance needs.
