Coalition has entered into a long-term strategic partnership with Allianz to expand its Active Cyber Insurance model into the global enterprise market, marking one of the most significant collaborations in the commercial cyber insurance sector.

Under the agreement, Allianz will transition its standalone commercial cyber insurance business to Coalition, which will assume primary responsibility for underwriting, pricing, product development, risk mitigation and claims management. Allianz will continue to provide long-term insurance capacity under a minimum 10-year framework while supporting multinational underwriting through its global commercial insurance operations.

The partnership comes as cyber risk remains the world’s leading business concern for the fifth consecutive year, according to the 2026 Allianz Risk Barometer, amid increasingly sophisticated cyber threats, expanding digital dependencies and growing regulatory scrutiny.

Combining Global Scale with Active Protection

Coalition said the agreement combines its Active Cyber Insurance model which integrates continuous risk monitoring and proactive loss prevention with Allianz’s international distribution network and financial strength.

The insurer noted that Allianz has also increased its equity investment in Coalition, while Allianz SE Chief Executive Officer Oliver Bäte will join Coalition’s Board of Directors. In addition, several cyber specialists from Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) will transfer to Coalition, strengthening its underwriting and regional expertise.

For existing Allianz cyber policyholders, Coalition said the transition is designed to be seamless, with existing coverage, service arrangements and claims handling remaining in place while adding Coalition’s active monitoring and prevention capabilities.

Moving Beyond Traditional Cyber Insurance

Coalition’s Active Cyber Insurance model is designed to shift cyber insurance from a purely financial risk transfer mechanism towards continuous risk management.

The company said its approach combines:

  • Real-time internet monitoring and threat intelligence
  • Risk-informed underwriting based on live cybersecurity data
  • Continuous network vulnerability scanning
  • Proactive alerts to help policyholders remediate security issues before cyber incidents occur

Rather than relying solely on static risk assessments, Coalition said the model continuously evaluates organisations’ cybersecurity posture throughout the policy period.

Initial International Rollout

The partnership will initially cover:

  • United States
  • Canada
  • United Kingdom
  • Australia
  • Germany
  • France
  • Denmark
  • Sweden

Coalition said additional markets are expected to follow as the partnership expands.

Leveraging Allianz’s distribution network across more than 200 countries and territories, the collaboration aims to provide multinational organisations with more consistent cyber insurance programmes across multiple jurisdictions.

Responding to a Changing Threat Landscape

Coalition said cyber threats continue to evolve despite record investment in cybersecurity, driven by increasingly sophisticated attacks, artificial intelligence, growing third-party dependencies and expanding regulatory obligations.

The company argues that combining continuous monitoring with insurance coverage enables organisations to reduce cyber losses rather than simply transferring financial risk after an incident occurs.

The partnership represents a significant strategic expansion for Coalition as it seeks to grow its presence in the global enterprise cyber insurance market while broadening the adoption of proactive, technology-enabled cyber risk management.
