The collaboration marks a significant step in refining how insurers assess and manage exposure to rising cyber threats.
By integrating CyberCube’s Portfolio Threat Actor Intelligence service into its operations, Aviva becomes the first insurer to adopt this solution as part of its recurring exposure management strategy. The tool provides deep visibility into the behavior of cyber threat actors and the technologies they are most likely to target, allowing Aviva to identify vulnerabilities in its commercial portfolio with greater precision.
“As cyber-attacks continue to rise, including the targeting of high-profile organizations, it’s crucial that businesses are properly protected,” said James Mitchell, Senior Cyber Pricing and Exposure Manager at Aviva. “Over the past year, Aviva has rigorously tested Portfolio Threat Actor Intelligence against several ransomware groups. By incorporating this unique blend of cyber analytics and threat intelligence into current underwriting and exposure management processes, (re)insurers can gain deeper insights into their portfolios and offer more tailored guidance to clients.”
The intelligence generated through CyberCube’s platform helps Aviva pinpoint companies that are more susceptible to specific cyber actors based on firmographic characteristics, technology dependencies, and observed security gaps. This allows Aviva to proactively advise clients at higher risk, including recommending targeted cybersecurity exercises aligned with the tactics used by threat actors.
“Portfolio Threat Actor Intelligence is an innovative solution that takes the management of cyber insurance portfolio risk to the next level,” said William Altman, Head of Cyber Threat Intelligence Services at CyberCube. “We are proud to support Aviva’s Exposure Management team in applying threat actor insights to their portfolio, setting a new benchmark in cyber risk modeling.”
Aviva will update its portfolio assessments on a quarterly basis using CyberCube’s tools—further strengthening its commitment to staying ahead in the evolving cyber threat landscape and providing enhanced protection for its commercial clients.
