In their new roles, Cane and Choo will assist clients in optimizing their capital structures by taking into account regulatory requirements, ratings considerations, and economic factors. They will focus on enhancing capital efficiency through strategies such as structured reinsurance, capital relief covers, and legacy transactions, all aimed at unlocking capital and driving growth.
Cane and Choo will also collaborate with the Capital Advisory’s Ratings Advisory team to guide clients through the ratings process and help maintain or improve their existing ratings. Additionally, they will work closely with Aon’s global Capital Advisory unit to introduce innovative capital solutions to regional clients, supporting better decision-making and fostering profitable growth.
Mike Cane, who will be based in London, brings over 20 years of experience in underwriting, analytics, reinsurance broking, and capital advisory to his new role. He will report directly to Kelly Superczynski, Aon’s Global Head of Capital Advisory. Before joining Aon, Cane served as Head of Capital Solutions at Gallagher Re and has held senior roles at Willis Re Specialty, Lockton Re, Guy Carpenter, and Allianz.

Yen Chu Choo, who has been with Aon since 2021, will continue to be based in Singapore and will report to George Attard, CEO of Reinsurance Solutions for APAC at Aon. Choo previously served as Senior Director within the APAC Capital Advisory team, and her promotion reflects Aon’s commitment to enhancing its advisory capabilities in the region.
