Evoque will begin by supporting Allianz’s commercial property claims team. The company will assess items within claims and determine which can be salvaged, resold, repurposed or recycled using environmentally responsible methods. Items that are not suitable for salvage will be disposed of in a way that minimises environmental impact. Where appropriate, the salvage value after costs and fees will be credited back to the claim to help reduce overall claims costs.
In 2024, Evoque diverted 3.3 million kilograms of waste from landfill through a mix of salvage resale and zero to landfill recycling. This activity delivered an estimated 7,500 metric tonnes of CO₂ reduction. Evoque has set a target to increase waste diversion to 6 million kilograms in 2025, supported by partnerships such as this one with Allianz.
Matt Cox, chief claims officer at Allianz UK, said, “Allianz puts a great emphasis on working sustainably and I am excited that we can add our partnership with Evoque to the work we have been doing across claims as part of our sustainability focus. Property salvage strategies are not consistent across the industry, so this is an opportunity for us to lead the way and enable our customers to act more sustainably too.”
While the initiative launches in commercial property, Allianz plans to extend the model to other claims areas over time, aligning financial outcomes for customers with measurable environmental benefits.
