Willis Re has completed its acquisition of BMS Re US, including BMS Intermediaries Inc. and BMS Capital Advisory LLC, as well as the associated US reinsurance broking team based in London. Willis Re announced the completion on 1 November 2026. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition expands Willis Re's capabilities across property and casualty, including property catastrophe, medical malpractice, and workers' compensation.
According to Willis Re, the deal provides a platform to accelerate growth in the US, enhance its existing capabilities, and diversify into new lines of business.

Willis Re first announced its agreement to acquire BMS Re US from BMS Group on 18 August 2026. At that time, the deal was subject to regulatory approval and other closing conditions. Neither the agreement announcement nor the completion announcement states a price.
Willis Re is a specialist global reinsurance broking and advisory business based in London. It describes BMS Re US as a leading independent reinsurance platform in the US that provides bespoke reinsurance and capital solutions.
The completion brings the BMS Re US business and its London-based US reinsurance broking team into Willis Re, which says it will use the platform to grow in the US and diversify into new lines of business.
