AXA XL has agreed to acquire the remaining shares of London-based corporate intelligence and cyber security consultancy S-RM, expanding its risk prevention capabilities beyond traditional insurance coverage.

AXA XL currently owns approximately 49% of S-RM and will acquire the outstanding shares under an agreement subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals. The transaction is expected to close by the end of September 2026.
Founded in 2005, S-RM provides corporate intelligence, cyber security and crisis response services to businesses and investors globally. Its offerings include cyber risk assessments, managed detection and incident response, specialist investigations, geopolitical intelligence, and integrity and reputational due diligence.
The acquisition supports AXA XL’s strategy to expand its prevention services through AXA XL Risk Advisory, a newly established business unit focused on helping clients identify and mitigate emerging risks. S-RM will continue serving its global customer base as part of AXA XL Risk Advisory.
“The acquisition of S-RM marks an important step in the buildout of AXA XL Risk Advisory and in our continued efforts to go beyond traditional insurance coverage,” said Scott Gunter, CEO of AXA XL.
“Clients are looking for data-driven insights and expert guidance to help them anticipate emerging threats, mitigate risk, and respond quickly when events occur.”
AXA XL said S-RM’s capabilities will complement its existing risk consulting teams and the technology-enabled solutions of the AXA Digital Commercial Platform.
Libby Benet, CEO of AXA XL Risk Advisory, said the combination would strengthen the company’s advisory offering by bringing together risk consulting expertise, geopolitical intelligence and crisis response capabilities.
S-RM CEO Heyrick Bond Gunning said the transaction would support further investment in the company’s prevention services and expand access to its capabilities.
S-RM operates across six continents with nine international offices and supports clients in more than 140 countries. The company has worked with AXA XL for more than 15 years as both a client and investor.
