Corgi Insurance has launched Golden by Corgi, a dedicated sports and entertainment insurance division designed to provide specialist cover for sports organisations, including leagues, governing bodies, clubs, events and venues.

The launch marks Corgi’s expansion into a global sports industry valued at more than US$600 billion, with the company aiming to simplify insurance for organisations that have traditionally relied on multiple brokers, carriers and administrators.
Golden is built on Corgi’s full-stack insurance platform and offers bespoke insurance programmes, rapid certificate issuance, in-house claims handling, embedded risk management support and loss prevention services tailored to the sports sector.
The new business will be led by Peter Akman and Mike T. Brown, both former entrepreneurs and professional athletes. Corgi said their experience within the industry would help shape insurance solutions for the operational risks faced by sports organisations.
According to the company, Golden is already working with national governing bodies and Olympic programmes, including USA Fencing, to provide insurance and risk management services.
Peter Akman, Co-Founder of Golden, said the platform had been designed specifically for the sports sector.
“Sports organizations operate in a highly specialized environment with risks that traditional commercial insurance products often fail to address. Golden was built specifically for this industry, providing organizations with a partner that understands the business of sports.”
Mike T. Brown, Co-Founder of Golden, added that the goal was to modernise the insurance experience for sports organisations.
“Sports organizations deserve an insurance experience that moves as quickly as they do. We’re combining Corgi’s carrier strength with deep sports expertise to create an entirely new standard for sports insurance.”
The launch reflects growing investment in specialist commercial insurance propositions, with insurers increasingly developing sector-specific products that combine underwriting, claims management and risk services on a single digital platform. As sports organisations face increasingly complex operational, liability and event-related risks, demand for dedicated insurance solutions continues to grow.
