Top-five US mortgage lender Newrez has expanded its partnership with insurtech Matic Insurance, bringing homeowners insurance comparison capabilities directly into its HomeHub customer portal as insurers and lenders increasingly focus on embedded digital experiences.

Top-five US mortgage lender Newrez has expanded its partnership with insurtech Matic Insurance, bringing homeowners insurance comparison capabilities directly into its HomeHub customer portal as insurers and lenders increasingly focus on embedded digital experiences.

The integration allows homeowners using HomeHub to compare insurance policies from more than 70 carriers, review their current coverage, and assess policy protection scores without leaving the platform.

Launched in Q4 2025, HomeHub gives Newrez customers access to mortgage information, refinance opportunities, home equity management tools, local property listings, and customer support services. The addition of Matic’s marketplace extends the platform’s role beyond lending, positioning it as a broader digital homeownership ecosystem.

The move comes as rising insurance premiums continue to pressure homeowners across the US, particularly in catastrophe-exposed regions where pricing volatility and carrier withdrawals have intensified affordability concerns.

By embedding insurance comparison tools into the customer journey, Newrez aims to help homeowners identify potential savings and simplify what has traditionally been a fragmented process involving multiple brokers, carrier websites, and renewal notices.

“By fully integrating the Matic platform into the Newrez HomeHub experience, our homeowners will be able to explore real-time insurance savings, similar to how we proactively notify customers when they can save money on their mortgage,” said Leslie Gillin, Chief Commercial Officer at Newrez.

“Insurance costs have trended up dramatically over the past five years, and we wanted to help proactively mitigate this real pain point our homeowners have been dealing with. We’re setting a new standard for homeownership platforms by embedding this new capability directly into HomeHub—meeting homeowners where they are and making it easier for them to save money and navigate their options with greater clarity.”

For Matic, the partnership expands distribution through one of the largest mortgage servicing and origination platforms in the US, strengthening its position in the embedded insurance market.

The insurtech operates a digital marketplace that connects consumers with a network of carriers and automates much of the quoting and comparison process using property, mortgage, and underwriting data.

As homeowners face growing pressure from inflation, higher mortgage repayments, and escalating insurance costs, digital comparison and embedded servicing tools are becoming a more important part of the overall homeownership experience.
