QBE, the global business insurer, has named Stephanie Cryer as Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) for its International division, effective 1 April 2026, subject to regulatory approval.
In her new role, Cryer will report to Jason Harris, Chief Executive Officer of QBE International, and will join the International Executive Management Board. She will also collaborate closely with Peter Burton, QBE Group Chief Underwriting Officer.
Cryer has been with QBE since 2017, initially serving as Head of Property before progressing to Head of Product Leaders in 2021, overseeing product strategy, wordings, and underwriting controls across multiple lines and regions. She brings over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, including previous roles at Chubb and ACE (now Chubb).
She succeeds Nick Hankin, who became Managing Director of QBE Re earlier this year, effective 1 January 2026.
Jason Harris, CEO of QBE International, said: “I am delighted to announce Stephanie as the CUO for our International division. Her extensive experience and market knowledge make her an excellent fit for this role. This internal appointment reflects the calibre of leadership within QBE and our commitment to recognising and developing talent across the International division.”
QBE International confirmed that a successor for the Head of Product Leaders role will be announced in due course.
