Global insurance and reinsurance broker Howden has appointed Andrew McGee as Chief Broking Officer for its UK & Ireland (UK&I) Retail division, strengthening its leadership team as the firm continues to expand its retail operations.
In his new role, McGee will oversee engagement with Howden’s insurer partners, supporting the delivery of strategic and commercial value across the UK&I Retail business. The company said his experience and leadership will play a key role in further developing broker–insurer relationships and advancing the division’s growth strategy.
McGee has been with Howden for more than six years, having joined the firm in 2019 within Portfolio Solutions and Market Management. Most recently, he served as Chief Operating Officer at Howden Markets, where he helped expand the division’s responsibilities to include Group Placement.
Prior to joining Howden, McGee worked in Portfolio Solutions and Market Management at Jardine Lloyd Thompson. Earlier in his career, he held the role of Senior Underwriter at Mapledown LLP within Lockton Companies, and also worked at Insight First and RSA Insurance.
The appointment reflects Howden’s continued focus on strengthening its broking leadership and enhancing collaboration with insurer partners across its UK and Ireland retail platform.
