Swiss Re has appointed Anne Lohbeck as Chief Risk Officer (CRO) for its Property & Casualty Reinsurance (P&C Re) division, effective May 1, 2026.

Lohbeck will report to Bernhard Kaufmann, Group Chief Risk Officer, and will join both the Risk Management Executive Team and the P&C Re Executive Committee. In her new role, she will oversee all risk management matters across the P&C Re business, reinforcing governance and risk oversight at a time of increasing market volatility and evolving underwriting challenges.
Lohbeck joined Swiss Re in 2010 and has held a variety of leadership roles across the organisation, building deep expertise in underwriting, portfolio management, and market strategy. When P&C Re was formally established as a standalone business unit in 2023, she was appointed Chief Underwriting Officer Specialty and Head of the Global Specialty Market Unit.
During her tenure, Lohbeck has played a key role in strengthening governance frameworks, repositioning portfolios, and driving underwriting consistency across the division. She has also supported the expansion of strategic growth areas, including cyber, where disciplined underwriting and risk oversight have become increasingly critical.
Before joining Swiss Re, Lohbeck spent six years at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), serving as a Project Leader and advising on strategic initiatives across the financial services sector.
Her appointment underscores Swiss Re’s focus on robust risk management practices within its P&C Re unit, as reinsurers navigate heightened catastrophe activity, emerging specialty risks, and evolving regulatory requirements.
