Based in Stockholm, Sjöstrand will take up the role on 1 September 2025 and report to Johan Lindvall, CEO of Lockton Sweden. He will focus on developing the firm’s property client base while working closely with colleagues in Sweden, London, and the US to deliver insurance solutions for multinational clients.

Sjöstrand joins Lockton with more than 15 years of experience in the insurance sector. He was most recently Senior Property Underwriter at XL Insurance Company SE, and has also served as Underwriting Manager for Property in the Nordics at AXA XL and XL Insurance Company SE.

Commenting on the appointment, Lindvall said: “Magnus’ experience makes him a great addition to Lockton Sweden. Our independence and client-first approach have already driven growth in Sweden. Magnus’ expertise will enhance our multinational client offering and further accelerate the development of our business.”

The hire is the latest in a series of leadership appointments for Lockton in Sweden, following Johan Lindvall’s arrival as CEO and Patrick Rönnqvist’s appointment as Head of Affinity. The moves reflect Lockton’s strategy to build out its Nordic operations and reinforce its position as the world’s largest independent insurance broker.
