Long joins Nexus from SCOR, where he was Head of London Market Solutions within the firm’s Alternative Solutions unit. In his new role, he will be responsible for supporting and expanding Nexus’s ART capabilities – translating complex structures into successful, efficient transactions and working closely with capacity providers and producing brokers to deliver bespoke solutions to clients.
Nexus launched its ART business line in December 2024 under the leadership of Christof Bentele, President of Nexus Specialty Casualty. The offering focuses on multi-year structured (re)insurance solutions, primarily within Property, Liability, and Multi-line insurance.
“I am extremely pleased to welcome Eamonn to the business, and proud to see that Nexus was able to attract leading talent in this sector,” said Bentele. “While Nexus was already able to respond to most structures requested by customers, Eamonn will elevate our capabilities to the next level. We aim to create maximum capital efficiency that goes far beyond conventional insurance structures. I’m confident Nexus will deliver even greater value with Eamonn in this key role.”
Commenting on his appointment, Long said: “I’m excited to join Nexus at such a dynamic time in its ART growth journey. The team has already shown impressive momentum in delivering innovative, customer-focused solutions. With a strong network of capacity partners and a forward-thinking leadership team, Nexus is uniquely positioned to address some of the most complex challenges faced by our customers. I’m proud to be part of that mission.”
With nearly 18 years of experience across the financial services and insurance industries, Long has held senior roles at major insurers, including seven years at Allianz, where he served as Managing Director in ART across London and New York. He began his career in derivatives trading at Barclays and Nomura, and holds a PhD in mathematics. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (FIA).
