Cytora and Vāyuh Forge Partnership to Advance Climate-Driven Property Insurance Underwriting
Cytora, the leading digital risk processing platform, has announced a strategic partnership with Vāyuh, an AI-driven weather forecasting and climate analytics company.

This collaboration is set to transform property insurance underwriting by enabling underwriters to better assess exposure to extreme weather risks using Vāyuh’s cutting-edge models that merge physics and artificial intelligence.

The partnership will see Vāyuh’s advanced climate and weather data models integrated directly into Cytora’s platform, allowing property insurers to access real-time analytics and risk scores that reflect a property’s vulnerability to natural disasters. This development comes at a critical time, as losses from so-called “secondary perils” like wildfires and severe storms continue to rise, prompting insurers to adopt more sophisticated tools to keep pace with evolving risk landscapes.

Renowned for its AI-based modeling capabilities, Vāyuh draws on thousands of data sources across millions of locations to generate highly granular views of property-level risk. Its models incorporate key factors such as temperature, precipitation, wind, wildfire risk, and severe convective storm activity, combining scientific principles with generative AI to produce highly accurate forecasts and insights.

By integrating Vāyuh’s rich climate intelligence into Cytora’s AI-powered risk engine, the partnership will enable insurers to automate risk enrichment, reduce manual intervention, and improve the speed and accuracy of underwriting decisions. The result is a more streamlined underwriting process that supports improved risk selection, reduced delays, and increased profitability.

This alliance is the latest in a string of strategic integrations for Cytora, as the company continues building one of the most comprehensive insurance data ecosystems in the market. Commenting on the partnership, Juan de Castro, COO of Cytora, said: “We are committed to empowering insurers with the most advanced tools for assessing and managing risks. One of the most pressing challenges insurers face is adapting their approach in the face of increasingly destructive extreme weather events. Our partnership with Vāyuh equips insurers with a powerful new resource for understanding and mitigating climate and weather-related risks.”

Dr. Mayur Mudigonda, CEO of Vāyuh, added: “There is an obvious change in the frequency and intensity of extreme events such as hurricanes, hail storms, wildfires, and more. These changes are currently not well reflected on insurance books, making the entire market quite vulnerable to catastrophes. At Vāyuh, our goal is to help everyone understand their catastrophic risk better. We do this by bringing our deep understanding of AI and physics to modeling risk.”

Together, Cytora and Vāyuh are poised to deliver the next generation of property underwriting solutions, giving insurers the tools they need to better predict and prepare for climate-related risks in an increasingly volatile world.
