Zurich’s Global Headquarters Awarded WELL Platinum Status
Zurich Insurance Group's global headquarters, Quai Zurich Campus at Mythenquai, has been awarded WELL Platinum status, positioning the insurer as one of Europe's pioneering companies to attain the distinction.

The WELL Platinum grading is regarded as the pinnacle of employee wellbeing certification.

Since 1901, the Quai Zurich Campus at Mythenquai has served as the foundational hub for the insurance group. With its newly acquired WELL Platinum certification, Zurich now stands among the vanguard of European enterprises to attain such distinguished recognition.

The insurer conveyed in a recent email announcement that the Quai Zurich Campus (depicted in the image) was meticulously conceived, constructed, and rejuvenated with a resolute commitment to sustainability. Following the notable achievement of receiving LEED Platinum certification for the entire campus in 2021, the edifice has now ascended to the highest echelons within both the LEED and WELL environmental assessment frameworks.

The WELL Building Standard assesses ten fundamental aspects or principles that profoundly influence the health and welfare of occupants: encompassing air, water, sustenance, illumination, movement, ambient comfort, acoustics, materials, cognitive health, and community engagement.

By attaining this coveted distinction, the overarching objective is to propel human health through strategic design interventions and operational measures, fostering a milieu of robust health and holistic wellbeing.

According to reports, the Quai Zurich Campus (pictured) was planned, built, and renovated with sustainability in at the forefront. Following the award of LEED Platinum certification for the whole campus in 2021, the building has now achieved the highest levels in both the LEED and WELL environmental rating systems.

In a statement issued by Zurich, the insurance giant said: “The WELL Building Standard measures 10 features or concepts that impact occupants’ health and wellbeing: air, water, nourishment, light, movement, thermal comfort, sound, materials, mind, and community.”

“Zurich aims to provide facilities that foster a culture of innovation and service, giving a warm welcome to visitors and allowing employees to work flexibly, collaboratively, and creatively,” the statement said. “Several of the group’s offices have achieved certifications that demonstrate the degree to which sustainability has been integrated into their design, construction, and operations.

“Besides the WELL Platinum and LEED Platinum certifications, the Quai Zurich Campus has also been recognized with 2000-Watt-Society certification for the whole campus [as well as] MINERGIE-P ECO certification for the new buildings and MINERGIE ECO certification for the historically listed buildings.”
