Under this extended partnership, USAA members gain access to a range of Resideo Solutions devices through the PERKS program. These devices are designed to protect homes against water damage and enhance overall household efficiency. USAA members are now able to purchase Resideo’s innovative Honeywell Home smart thermostat and the First Alert WiFi Water Leak & Freeze Detector at exclusive discounted rates via the PERKS program. Moreover, eligible Homeowner policyholders can enroll these devices to secure a connected home discount.

Water damage claims in the United States rank among the most frequently filed residential property insurance claims, with an estimated total cost of approximately $26 billion in damages for single-family homeowners, according to data from the Insurance Information Institute (iii). This expanded partnership underscores USAA’s commitment to addressing these critical concerns and providing its members with cutting-edge solutions to safeguard their homes and mitigate risks.

USAA’s latest move aligns with its mission to continually enhance the value it delivers to its members, offering not only financial services but also solutions that contribute to the security and well-being of their homes.

In continuation of USAA’s commitment to enhancing its members’ home protection, the company initially introduced Resideo’s WiFi Water Leak and Freeze Detectors to its Homeowners policyholders in specific markets through its innovative Connected Home Platform. This technology-enabled loss prevention program strategically placed Water Leak and Freeze Detectors in proximity to household appliances. In the event of a leak, the detector promptly alerts the user, as stated by Resideo.

Building upon the success of this initial initiative, USAA has now extended this valuable offering to all its members. Through the Resideo app, members gain the ability to control their home’s comfort settings and receive real-time notifications about potential water leaks. This expansion underscores USAA’s dedication to providing comprehensive solutions that empower its members to proactively protect their homes and maintain a comfortable living environment.
