The collaboration aims to bridge the gap between cybersecurity and insurance, enabling UK organizations to benefit from insurance offerings that reflect their proactive cyber risk mitigation efforts. By leveraging Sophos’ security technologies alongside Capsule’s insurance expertise, the two companies aim to deliver a more integrated and responsive approach to managing cyber threats and insurance coverage.
“Cybersecurity and cyber insurance can no longer operate in silos — they must work together to create measurable risk reduction for businesses,” said Liam Green, co-founder and chief operating officer at Capsule. “This partnership is built on a simple idea: businesses that are proactively reducing their cyber risk exposure should be rewarded by their insurer to reflect that effort.”
Launched in 2021, Capsule has established itself as a forward-thinking player in the insurance space, with ties to business insurance startup Vouch Insurance. Capsule’s approach emphasizes ease of access, policy relevance, and reliability in moments of crisis — values it aims to reinforce through its partnership with Sophos.
Chris Bell, senior vice president of worldwide channels and alliances at Sophos, highlighted the synergy: “Sophos is already the cybersecurity provider of choice for MSPs across the UK. With this partnership, we are extending the benefits available to customers while also making it easier for MSPs to support their customers’ cyber insurance needs.”
The initiative includes automatic insurance discounts for businesses that deploy Sophos cyber controls, such as its managed detection and response (MDR) service. Additionally, the partnership provides MSP-friendly incident support to minimize disruption and enhance customer peace of mind during cyber events.
By combining real-time threat intelligence with insurance coverage tailored to actual risk postures, Sophos and Capsule aim to redefine how UK businesses approach cyber resilience.
