By using the most precise observed rainfall data available, Instacasting enables clients to respond to flood risks with greater certainty and speed. Surface water flooding is the most significant flood risk in the UK, currently affecting more than 2.8 million people in England, according to the Environment Agency. Instacasting addresses this by utilising a variety of data sources, including rainfall RADAR, to track observed rainfall rather than relying on forecasted data. The system then processes this information through Previsico’s advanced modelling tool to predict the likelihood of flooding with up to 80% accuracy.

Instacasting is available in three formats: Instacast Outlook, which displays flood footprints from observed rainfall on a flood intel dashboard; Instacast Playback, which allows clients to view flood footprints from the past 12 hours based on observed rainfall; and Instacast On-Demand, enabling clients to request customised retrospective analysis of specific flood events.
