She will be based in London and report to Gary Head, Chief Underwriting Officer.

Hallett brings experience from Deloitte, where she specialised in delegated authority and supported clients with large-scale underwriting transformations. She began her career at Hiscox, holding a variety of underwriting and operational roles across business units and distribution channels.

Her appointment, Optio said, is part of its strategy to deliver consistent underwriting profit for insurer partners. Head described Hallett’s expertise as “instrumental” to that ambition.
