Specialist insurance provider CFC has appointed Nick Line as Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO), strengthening its executive leadership as the business continues to scale globally across specialty and emerging risk lines.
Line joins CFC after a 28-year career at Markel, where he most recently served as CUO. During his tenure, he played a key role in expanding the breadth and diversity of Markel’s portfolio, enhancing underwriting capabilities, and driving growth through new products, territories and acquisitions.

At CFC, Line will lead the insurer’s global underwriting teams, bringing deep technical expertise, actuarial insight and a strong track record in building sustainable, profitable portfolios. He is also Chair of the Inclusion at Lloyd’s Committeeand sits on the LMA CUO Committee, reflecting his wider industry leadership.
