UPS launches Secure Commerce to help businesses manage supply chain risk

UPS has launched UPS Secure Commerce, bringing its shipping insurance, high-value shipment protection, and e-commerce risk technology into one portfolio.

The offering combines InsureShield Shipping Insurance, Parcel Pro, and CommerceShield to help businesses manage shipment loss, fraud, delivery issues, and operational disruptions across carriers and transportation modes. UPS said the portfolio combines logistics data with agentic AI to help customers identify supply chain risks and act before losses occur.

In 2025, UPS protected 1.4 million shippers and insured 62 million packages, with 97% of claims resolved within five days, according to the company.

Apparel brand Buru said its previous process took 20 to 25 minutes to file each claim and at least a week to resolve it. Since working with UPS, claims are filed in minutes and typically resolved within 24 hours, allowing the retailer to refund or replace orders before recovering the loss.

Bala Subramanian, chief digital and technology officer at UPS, said the launch would help customers move from reactive to proactive risk management.

"Commerce is becoming more connected, more digital and more complex. Today's businesses need more insights and visibility to make real-time decisions that help them better manage supply chain risk. With UPS Secure Commerce, we are bringing together decades of data and expertise – with our agentic Artificial Intelligence – to help customers move from reactive to proactive supply chain management," said Subramanian.
