MS Reinsurance (MS Re), a Switzerland-based global reinsurer, has announced that Jörg Bruniecki will succeed Charles Goldie as Group Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) effective April 1, 2026. Goldie, who has served as CUO for five years, will retire but continue as Senior Advisor to CEO Robert Wiest.

Bruniecki, currently CUO for Global Specialty Lines, will lead MS Re’s global underwriting strategy and join both the Leadership Team and Executive Board, reporting directly to Wiest. He brings 30 years of reinsurance experience, having joined MS Re in March 2022 as CUO for International business and overseeing specialty lines including Agriculture, Cyber, Financial Risks, Engineering, and Complex Industrial and Corporate Risks.

Prior to joining MS Re, Bruniecki held senior roles at PartnerRe and Munich Re, including Global Head of Aviation Reinsurance and Senior Executive Manager for CEE and South Europe.

“Charles has been a defining force in MS Re’s evolution,” said Wiest. “His vision, discipline, and leadership have reshaped our underwriting strategy and strengthened our market position. Jörg’s broad market experience and proven ability to translate strategy into results make him well suited to lead our underwriting organisation into its next phase.”

Goldie commented, “It has been a privilege to help lead MS Re during a period of significant growth and change. I am particularly pleased to see Jörg assume the CUO role.” Bruniecki added, “I am honoured to build on the strong foundations established by Charles and look forward to continuing to deliver value for our partners.”

In a related move, Louis de Segonzac, CUO, Americas, will become Chief Technical Underwriting Officer, succeeding Marcus Pollak. De Segonzac, who has led MS Re’s Latin American and broader Americas markets, will bring technical underwriting expertise to further modernise the company’s capabilities.

Wiest concluded, “These leadership changes reflect our confidence in the next generation of MS Re leaders and our commitment to building on the strong foundations we have established.”
