The round was led by Brewer Lane with participation from Virtue, Cambrian, and Industry Ventures. Brewer Lane’s Rohan Malhotra and Virtue’s Sean Doolan will join the company’s board. The investment brings LightSpun’s total funding to $18 million.
LightSpun’s platform automates claims processing, benefits management, and provider onboarding. The company reports that customers are cutting administrative costs in half, achieving over 90% auto-adjudication of claims, and reducing provider onboarding times from as long as 60 days to under a week. More than 175,000 dental providers are already processed through LightSpun’s system.
The funding follows a collaboration with the American Dental Association to launch AI-driven credentialing nationwide, addressing one of the most persistent challenges in provider access and patient care.
“Dental insurance runs on infrastructure that most businesses abandoned decades ago,” said Rohan Malhotra, General Partner at Brewer Lane. “LightSpun stands out not just for its AI platform, but for real traction solving administrative headaches for payers, group practices, DSOs, and the millions who just want faster, transparent, better care.”
CEO and co-founder Shaju Puthussery added: “Outdated technology holds everyone back, from payers to dentists and patients. Our vision is better patient outcomes at a lower cost, powered by an AI-native health administration platform.”
LightSpun plans to use the Series A funding to expand its engineering and product teams, accelerate platform development, and grow partnerships with insurers and dental service organizations by the end of 2026.
