Liberty Mutual Insurance has named Monica Caldas its next EVP and CIO. Caldas will enter her new role effective January 2023, after James McGlennon retires. The company announced the succession plan in a release today.

Caldas last was deputy CIO, managing technology across three of Liberty Mutual’s business units to optimize data usage and performance. Before joining Liberty Mutual, she began her career with General Electric in IT operations and software development, spanning 17 years.

In a statement, Liberty Mutual Chairman and CEO David Long said, “Monica’s deep passion for technology, data-driven solutions and the customer experience will continue to propel our digital transformation forward, delivering innovative results for our customers and employees.”
