Insurtech Start-Up Ottonova Raises 60m Euros in Extra Funding
Digital health insurer Ottonova has received fresh capital of around 60 million euros. Existing investors Debeka, HV Holtzbrinck Ventures, Vorwerk Ventures and btov Partners are increasing their commitment, according to an Ottonova press release.

In addition, an advertising campaign on ProSiebenSat.1 Group will be funded in partnership with SevenVentures. The financial injection will fund an expansion of sales and marketing activities in 2020 – the goal is to increase the customer base through increased presence on television, and via social media channels, says the company.

Ottonova Services is an app-based healthcare product, intended to make it easier for customers to manage their own insurance. The start-up was founded in Munich in 2017.

In the summer of 2019, the company launched optimized insurance rates on the market. The new dental supplement insurance plan proved to be an award winner in Germany. At the same time, Ottonova entered into cooperation with distribution partners such as Check24 and Blau Direkt.
