The expansion brings Instnt’s fraud protection and underwriting solutions to businesses across the state via the surplus lines market.
The move follows a recent partnership with Munich Re, announced last month, which expands reinsurance capacity for Instnt’s flagship fraud loss insurance product.
Instnt’s platform enables businesses to efficiently onboard legitimate customers while preventing fraud. If the system fails to detect fraud and a bad actor slips through, businesses can file a claim and receive compensation within 30 days. This model allows companies to transfer the financial burden of fraud losses off their balance sheets—backed by insurance.
“To genuinely help eliminate fraud loss from balance sheets, we need to meet businesses where they are, and that means earning trust at both the regulatory and operational levels,” said Sunil Madhu, Founder and CEO of Instnt. “California is home to some of the most innovative companies in the world. We’re proud to bring our solutions to businesses in the state through the surplus lines market to mitigate fraud loss.”
Instnt’s entry into California marks a significant step in its nationwide growth strategy, aiming to provide scalable, insured onboarding infrastructure to enterprises navigating the increasing threat of digital fraud.
