Gen Re has appointed Nancy Roos to the Executive Board of General Reinsurance AG, effective April 1, 2026, reinforcing its leadership team and governance capabilities.
Roos, who will continue in her role as Chief Financial Officer, steps into the position with more than two decades of experience at Gen Re. Since joining the company in 2001, she has held a range of senior finance and leadership roles, playing a key part in strengthening financial oversight and supporting the reinsurer’s international operations.
Her appointment reflects Gen Re’s focus on continuity and deep institutional expertise, particularly as the industry navigates increasing regulatory complexity and evolving reporting requirements.
Charlie Shamieh, Chairman of Gen Re and Chair of the Executive Board of General Reinsurance AG, highlighted Roos’ impact, noting her leadership of the international finance function and her ability to guide the organisation through complex regulatory environments.
The move underscores Gen Re’s commitment to building a resilient and forward-looking leadership structure, with a strong emphasis on financial discipline, governance, and long-term strategic development.
As one of the core operating entities within the Gen Re group, General Reinsurance AG plays a central role in supporting global reinsurance activities. Roos’ expanded responsibilities are expected to further enhance the company’s ability to deliver consistent performance and adapt to the evolving demands of the global insurance market.
